Use this option if you want to post all items in an import costing batch to a default bin location – for example, you can receive all the items into a temporary bin location (such as a storage container) before they are transferred to their final warehouse locations. Micronet prompts you to enter the bin location when you post the batch.
This means that you don't need to enter a bin location against every line in an import costing batch. You only need to enter a bin location on lines that are to be stored in a different bin location to the default. When you post the batch and enter the default bin location, Micronet will set that bin location for all items in the batch where the bin has been left blank. It will not overwrite the bin locations on lines where a bin has been entered.
|
Technical Tip For this option to work correctly, multi bins must be enabled and the Allow Multiple Bin Locations per Item field on the Inventory Configuration screen should be set to either Main Bin Only or Priority Order – see "Edit - Program - Inventory". |
|
Warning You cannot use this option if the items are being received into more than one warehouse. |
To post all items in an import costing batch to a default bin location:
Refer to "Import Costing - Menu Options".
|
Technical Tip This menu option toggles the default receipt bin location feature on and off. A tick appears next to the menu option when the default receipt bin location feature is toggled on. In that case, choosing this menu option removes the tick and toggles the default receipt bin location feature off. |
Micronet redisplays the Import Costing screen.
When you post the batch (either costed, uncosted or partial release), Micronet displays the Enter Default Receipt Bin Location screen which prompts you to enter the bin location where the items are to be stored.
